Gear progression is what most players in FFXIV struggle with. Even the top players in the game have trouble in dealing with how to progress their gear in order to maximize its potential. There are many routes that players can take when it comes to gear progression. There are an abundance of guides out there in the wild that players can look into. From the Heavensward expansion even down to the A Realm Reborn, there are many things that gamers must take into account before taking that first step to improving their equipment.
One can spend literally hundreds of hours just trying to grind through Final Fantasy XIV's fantastic PvE content because it is a game that has an IP stretching back to the 90s to draw upon. Eloyrea is simply rich with lore and content. With loads of gear for all of its different and unique classes, there's always a reason to keep getting better.
From crafting to acquiring Bind on Equip or Pickup items, there are many options for players in terms of gear progression. However, sometimes, there can be difficulty in the ever so devastating RNG (Random Number Generation). A lot of players run Coil, Crystal Tower, and Alexander, but sometimes, despite being skilled enough to finish those instances without any fret or worry, the gear they want and need are simply out of reach because they just won't drop.
Fortunately, there's a solution to this for players that are flush with tons of Gil - they can purchase these gear pieces instead. However, knowing the trend of the game, raiders who mainly just do instances and care little else about the game will not have much in-game currency. Gil farming can be a tedious grind due to the hours required to put in with crafting and/or gathering mats. So, another method has to come about due to a raider's time constraints.
Level 70 Gear Guide > Level 90 Gear GuideNew players should directly purchase Augmented Cryptlurker Weapons and Gear, giving iLvl 530, with Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. This gear is bolded in the tables below.Poetics gear becomes available in Eulmore and at Mowen's Merchant in the Crystarium (X:10.1 Y:11.8) after Shadowbringers.Alternatively, ABasic-rarity crafted gear made with Endwalker materials can be had HQ off the Market Board, giving iLvl 515, with Gil. This gear is italicised in the tables below.Scrips exchange unlock quest The Boutique Always Wins requires only City of Final Pleasures.
High-level crafters can use exotic materials to forge item level 510 Exarchic gear, including weapons (however, it is unlikely that Square Enix will add such weapons for Sage or Reaper). These items have lower base stats, but can be over-melded in FFXIV with five Materia.
This gear can then be brought to Hillicen for Eulmoran Certificates of Grandeur. With enough certificates and Tomestone of Allegory, players can gain item level 520 Augmented Exarchic gear (however, further melding is forbidden). The nice thing is that a specific item slot costs a fixed amount of certificates. This means one can craft or buy the cheapest item, convert them to currency, then receive the real intended gear.
The next level of gear comes via Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism. Aphorism can be obtained via level 90 duties, along with certain daily roulettes. Doing these duties with a new player (including yourself) will also reward extra tomestones, so helping out fresh level 90 characters is usually worth it.
Patch 6.01 introduced the normal version of Pandaemonium: Asphodelos, a raid dungeon that can be cleared weekly to earn ilvl 580 gear. However, instead of earning the gear directly, you will instead gain Unsung Asphodelos tokens, which are then traded in for gear.
Another quick option for ilvl 580 is the Classical crafter gear, introduced in Patch 6.05. This can be crafted directly (if you have appropriately geared level 90 crafting classes), though the easier option is to buy them from the market board. As time goes on, this gear will get cheaper and cheaper, making it a decent way to increase your ilvl later in the patch cycle.
Additionally, this gear can now be upgraded to ilvl 590 \"Augmented Classical\" versions in Patch 6.1. Trading in the crafted Classical version to the vendor Rashti in Radz-at-Han at X: 10.8, Y: 9.9 gives you Hannish Certificates of Grade 1 Import. Crucible Rain, an item costing 100 Aphorism Tomestones, can also be bought via the tomestone vendor in Radz-at-Han. Trading in enough of both will let you acquire Augmented Classical gear, which has better stats than the standard versions.
Following the Patch 6.1 storyline will unlock the sidequest \"A Mission in Mor Dhona\" in Old Sharlayan, which can be accepted via the \"Fresh-Faced Student\" NPC. Progressing this questline unlocks the first 24-man raid of Endwalker, Aglaia. Bosses in Aglaia drop ilvl 590 equipment, though you can only get one piece of gear from the raid each week (this resets every Tuesday).
You must also take into account the stats your gear already has. For example, a piece of gear that has critical hit as the highest secondary stat will not be able to gain any more crit via materia. This will be represented as red text in the melding menu along with a warning if you attempt this.
The FFXIV Makai gear is obtainable again thanks to the recent 6.1 patch and includes gear sets for the jobs introduced in Shadowbringers and Endwalker. The Garo collaboration event originally ran in Final Fantasy 14 from the January 2017 to October 19. Many new players were disappointed to find out that the Makai gear was now unavailable, however, the return of the Garo event is a cause for celebration. The FFXIV Makai gear is especially popular for glams and is easy and straightforward to obtain, so here's how.
Makai gear sets are mostly used as glam pieces in Final Fantasy 14, much like the standard PvP gear is. The set consists of a full five-piece gear set, and you can pick and choose the pieces you want to obtain and wear.
There are many ways to squeeze more power out of your Warrior of Light in Final Fantasy 14, ranging from reaching the level cap to melding the best Materia to your gear and everything in between. This allows you to work towards upgrading your equipment in meaningful ways consistently throughout your journey.
In Endwalker's case, one of the best ways to get your hands on max-level gear is by augmenting your Lunar Envoy's Gear, which will take your iLevel from 620 to 630, giving you a substantial boost in stats for end-game content. Obtaining a complete set of Lunar Envoy's Gear takes lots of time and dedication, and that's not even including the time it takes to augment it. However, the end result is more than worth the effort.
Updated January 31, 2023, by Seth Parmer: Patch 6.3 is out and has brought along the expected changes to gear augmentation. You can now earn the Moonshine Materials needed to enhance Lunar Envoy Armor and Accessories without the need to tackle the Savage Raid. As a result, we have updated this guide to include how you can obtain the needed materials and augment your gear!
Before augmenting your gear, you will first need to obtain it, which will likely take more time than you think. You will need to get Radiant Gear, which is the equipment you can purchase with Allagan Tomestone of Astronomy from a vendor in Radz-at-Han. While this may seem simple enough, several twists will prevent you from getting a complete set of Radiant Gear without grinding out weekly and daily activities for several weeks. We will go over how to obtain Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy and how to use them to acquire Radiant Gear in the sections below!
With the latest Patch 6.2 update, Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy are now uncapped, meaning you can earn as much of them as you'd like without waiting for the weekly reset. However, you can still only hold 2,000 of them at any given time, so be sure to spend them on gear or other items whenever you reach the limit. Additionally, the amount you earn from activities has also changed, and we have updated the list below accordingly. Remember, the Duty Roulette resets every day at 7:00 AM (PST)/10:00 AM (EST).
Patch 6.2 has introduced yet another Tomestone for you to grind away at to obtain: the Allagan Tomestones of Causality. These Tomestones will allow you to purchase powerful gear, Lunar Envoy's, the newest and best high-level equipment you can get, save for the Savage Raid.
Additionally, clearing the Savage version of the Abyssos: Eighth Circle will also guarantee you an Ultralight Tomestone drop. Honestly, we don't know which method is more excruciating or time-consuming here. Anyways, let's look at how to obtain gear with Tomestones of Causality!
If you have Lunar Envoy's Gear and its corresponding Moonshine Material to augment it, you can head over to Radz-at-Han and speak to Khaldeen (X:10.9, Y:10.4). You will have to unequip whichever piece of equipment you will want to augment before doing so. You will also lose any Materia attached to your gear, so we advise removing it beforehand if you have high-end ones slotted into it.
This guide will show you how to quickly level all of your crafter classes in Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker. We will assume you have no prior knowledge of the crafting system and macros will be provided to do the majority of the heavy lifting for you. With preparation, you will bypass the majority of the grind associated with leveling crafters by using the Market Board to buy the gear and materials required to craft Grade 4 Ishgard Restoration recipes. The suggested gear and macros will result in huge EXP bonuses that will speed up the leveling process immensely. 781b155fdc
